As of tonight, I have been to exactly three Twins games (Minnesota’s professional team) — or at least, three that I remember — and they won!
As most of you likely know, I’m not a big sports fan. But I went to a game tonight, actually paid attention (mostly) and ended up enjoying it.
My first game was probably in fifth grade — we went as a class after D.A.R.E. I don’t remember who they played or who won. I do, however, remember braiding one of the boy’s hair. It was a fun day.
My next game was in high school — my dance group and I performed on the field before the game as part of some diversity thing. It was probably our biggest crowd. They played the Seattle Mariners; I remember because Ichiro Suzuki was on the team.
And now, tonight. My senior year roommate from Bryn Mawr was on town with her family, and I went to the game with her, her boyfriend, and her family. It was more fun than I expected, and the Twins won, which is always a plus. They played the Kansas City Royals and won four to three.
I’m still not a big fan of baseball, but I learned a fair amount, and I had a great time with the people I went with.
