1 Year After Top Surgery

1 Year After Top Surgery

It has been exactly one year (well, one year and a matter of hours) since I had top surgery, and I’m feeling pretty awesome.

Finally Back in Chicago

It has been exactly nine months since I last posted. During that time, a lot has happened. Most importantly, I moved back to Chicago a few weeks ago. Since I originally started this blog the first time I moved to Chicago, I decided that I should take up the blog again, now that I’ve moved back. Continue reading

I Miss Hell Week at Bryn Mawr

I miss Bryn Mawr. I miss Traditions – Athena, I miss Traditions, especially now that it’s Hell Week. I really, really miss Hell Week, in a way that only another Mawrtyr would understand. I miss being proud of my frosh, and bedtime stories (thank you for the dream, Jane), and ridiculous partying. I miss all of the costumes and the drama of the week. I miss that huge sense of community and unity that sweeps over the campus. I miss being part of something greater. Neil Gaimon’s Wish This Year: To Make Mistakes

Neil Gaimon has gorgeous wishes for the new year. Seriously. I wish they were my words. His new year’s wishes are unexpected and challenging and thought-provoking — not merely to have a good year or a happy year — and this year is no different:

And for this year, my wish for each of us is small and very simple.

And it’s this.

I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.

2012 New Year’s Resolutions

I didn’t do so well with resolutions in 2011 — I made lots of them, and for many of them, it was rather hard to determine whether or not I actually fulfilled them. I’m hoping that by making this year’s resolutions more concrete, less abstract, and fewer in number, I’ll do better this year. Continue reading
