The Wedding of River Song

Spoilers!

So intense, and it doesn’t make any sense, but it does. And “pterodactyls are vermin. Do not feed.” Bringing back Dickens, Churchill, a Dalek. “It’s always two minutes past five.” The Doctor reading a “Knitting for Girls” magazine. “Live chess” super creepy — the Doctor’s gotten ruthless. Night and the Doctor (Doctor Who mini-episodes)

Spoilers!

It may be worth purchasing the complete sixth season of Doctor Who in actual DVD form (as opposed to the cheaper, no-physical-copy version) in order to get the five mini-episodes that comprise Night and the Doctor. The Doctor in a tuxedo, plenty of River Song, little glimpses into the Doctor’s relationships with Amy and Rory — they may be tiny little video clips (emphasis on mini), but they’re wonderful.  Continue reading

The Doctor and His Rose

The Doctor and Rose

When I started watching Doctor Who, I got deeply invested in the the Doctor and Rose very quickly — invested in their relationship, their chemistry, and their potential as a couple. It started with Eccleston’s Ninth Doctor, but it really warmed up with Tennant‘s Tenth. It was in the way they held hands almost instinctively, the way the Doctor smiled at Rose with a special warmth, the way they were so happy together. Continue reading

OTP: River and the Doctor

Why River is the Best Match for the Doctor

The Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) and River Song (Alex Kingston)

As far as I’m concerned, River Song and the Doctor belong together. They are, without a doubt, my Doctor Who OTP (One True Pairing). Granted, I haven’t seen most of the classic Who, but of all of the people in the new Who, River Song is the best person for the Doctor. I love their chemistry; I love their potential.
